More than any other Japanese manufacturer, Yamaha has fully embraced the growing customization movement, and over the past few years the company has commissioned a range of unique specials.

New T7 concept model

Whatever kind of Adventure motorcycle you ride, it is likely that it has been influenced in some way by one of the most significant models in the history of Yamaha. That model was the legendary XT600Z Ténéré, launched 33 years ago at the Paris Show.

The iconic XT600Z Ténéré appealed to a wide range of riders who loved its rugged simplicity and race-bred pedigree. Based closely on Yamaha’s factory Dakar Rally competition machines that were raced by legendary riders including Stéphane Peterhansel, this tough adventure model went on to become one of the bestselling motorcycles in Europe.

In the first 10 years of its life – between 1984 and 1994 – this remarkable motorcycle achieved 61,000 sales, and today the Ténéré continues to attract a loyal following amongst many proud owners who are members of dedicated owners clubs.

The original Ténéré spirit that made Yamaha one of the greatest names in Rally and Adventure riding has never gone away, and is forever in the company’s DNA. Adventure represents a very pure and essential way of enjoying motorcycle riding for Yamaha- offering feelings of utter freedom and discovery, traveling to stunning places even when there are no roads to get there. Now Yamaha are about to give the world a glimpse of the future with the unveiling of the T7 Concept at EICMA.

The 2017 WR450F Rally is set for Dakar Challenge

On the 2nd of January 2017, the Yamalube Yamaha Official Rally Team will leave the start line for stage one of the 2017 Dakar Rally. Onboard the 2017 WR450F Rally, riders Helder Rodriguez, Adrien van Beveren, Alessandro Botturi and Rodney Fagotter will make the start from Asuncíon in Paraguay for the first time, before continuing through Bolivia and ending, on the 14th January, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The most demanding rally race in the world requires a bike to match, and the WR is up to the challenge. The class leading WR450 enduro machine undergoes a number of modifications for long distance rally riding, building on the bulletproof base motorcycle to become a real Dakar challenger. With over 9,000km to cover, at times in extreme heat and over rough terrain, the WR450F Rally benefits from a larger 33-litre fuel tank to travel longer distances and bigger cooling systems to keep temperatures under control.

The instantly recognizable navigation tower at the front of the bike stands out with the piercing quad light set up, with full GPS and roadmap system in place for rider navigation behind. Advanced Yamaha off-road chassis and engine technology ensure a light, nimble and agile machine with strong linear torque and essential controllability for the riders. Adding to the control for the extreme challenges are a set of BOS telescopic forks at the front and a modified swing arm at the rear.

Yamaha Reveals the Race Ready 2017 YZF-R6

Yamaha Motor Europe N.V. welcomed all thrill seekers into ‘ouR World’ with the launch of the race-ready YZF-R6 during the EICMA International Motorcycle Exhibition in Milan. Inspired by YZR-M1 technology with the distinctive R-Series design, the showcasing of this full-blooded racing machine was Yamaha’s first step in preparing its customers and racers for what’s to come in the next year, when the YZF-R6 will demonstrate its racing excellence on track, chasing glory in the 2017 FIM Supersport World Championship.

GRT Yamaha Official WorldSSP Team’s Lucas Mahias and Federico Caricasulo as well as Kallio Yamaha Supported WorldSSP Team’s Niki Tuuli and Sheridan Morais attended the EICMA Press Conference to get a first glimpse of the 2017 YZF-R6. This new middleweight Supersport bike is incredibly similar to their racing bikes for next season due to the championship’s regulations that only allow very subtle alterations made to the consumer bike’s cylinder head, gearbox, suspension, rear shock, front fork, electronic system and brake disks.

Having won the FIM Supersport World Championship three times in the last seven years (2009: Cal Crutchlow / 2011:Chaz Davies / 2013: Sam Lowes), the YZF-R6 has already proved it’s top of the line, but that hasn’t stopped Yamaha from taking it one step further with the new 2017 model.
